Aiden's Feelings

Aiden completed a book project at school that talked about what makes him feel certain ways.

He feels excited when: I go to the 99!

He feels angery when: there are bee's around.

He feels happy when: the sun is out.

He feels sad when: he gets a splinter.

I think this is cute enough to keep. Who knew the 99 made him excited. I think we have only taken him twice.

The month of October has been a busy one full of family activities. We went to the World Chili Championship held in Manchester. It was unbelievable! Aiden actually likes chili now, go figure.

We also had the opportunity to go to the Ipswich MA chowderfest with Nanny & Grampy. They had fun free games for kids, and each game kids played they received a prize. Aiden could not ask for anything more! We also enjoyed going apple picking with Aiden's friend Jayna and pumpkin picking with Chip and his family. Of course we went to the annual Pumpkin Regatta in Goffstown. Again, soooo many free activities for kids. Aiden painted a pumpkin and took it home for free, carved a pumpkin, made a face mask, and watched pumpkins being catapaulted into the river. All of this and it's not even Halloween yet:)

Life was a WHIRLWIND and now the dust is settling

Aiden went back to Pre-school two weeks ago with his new teacher Miss Kim. Thank goodness for her, as she keeps him in line. Since he returned back his behavior has begun to settle down. It's almost as if I have the 'old Aiden back'! Wow, how he tried everything and anything to get our attention the past two months, since Gwen was born. That is something I will remind him of when he gets older.

So the other day as he was getting a jacket for school, I told him to wear his vest. His response, no joke was, "I can't wear that to school. My friends will laugh at me." I was speechless. What four year old cares what his friends will think? Does it really begin this early? Today he asked to go for a walk with me. While walking I began singing a song by Rick Charet and replaced Aiden's name with the name in the song. Innocent right? Well, you and I are both wrong. We began to walk past a random lady who was sitting outside her house. Aiden stopped walking and said, "mom, please stop singing that. You are embarrassing me!" Again-what the hell do you say to a four year old. Hence I was speechless. I love my little man who only weighs a whopping 32 pounds.

Current favorite tv shows:

1. Phineas & Ferb
2. Tom & Jerry
3. Any superhero show

Life is like a Rollercoaster Ride

Well, Aiden's little sister was born on July 22nd. He loves her to pieces and is very careful around her. My how tables have turned towards his mom and dad however. He is definately having a difficult time adjusting to this new transition. He stayed with Nanny & Grampy the night before Gwen was born and kept asking to go to the hospital. When he arrived at the hospital we could hear him coming down the hallway, he was so giddy. So we were able to get a snapshot of him coming into the room. Too cute-he literally ran into the room, hugged mom & dad, and went over to meet his sister. A week later the family took a camping trip to Papoose Pond in Maine and enjoyed the weekend. We were entertained one evening by Rick Charette (the children's singer). Aiden volunteered to go on stage and dance!

So Gwen is due anyday now. Aiden is definately acting out. A few months ago I asked him what was going on? This is what he told me: "I don't want baby Gwen". When asked why he said, "she makes me nervous because I will have too change her stinking poopy diapers".

So far in the month of June we have been to Patriot Place where Aiden decorated various animal casting, participated in fising, and received a lesson on how to shoot a bow and arrow. We have camped in the backyard a few times, went hiking a few times in the area, and he has learned to ride his bike up "the big Harvest Drive Hill". The entire way down the hill he screams, "Wheeeeeeeee" with the biggest smile that I have ever seen.

No More Tonsils

In May 2010 Aiden had his tonsils and adnoids removed. Todd had to take him to the surgery as I am a wimp. Everything went well. He was out of school for a week and a half! I felt sooo bad for him. He hurt so much that he was not even eating popsicles! He even lost weight, if that's possible. But as they say kids are resilent and he bounced right back. He did have a high pitched squeaky voice for a while, which was rather amusing.

Over April vacation we we got Aiden a new "big kid bed" that is going in the smaller room. He loves the bed. It's a loft with a tent attached to the bottom. Pictures will come later. It was difficult to persuade him that we are giving away his Thomas Bed. He absolutely loves the thing! Bye-Bye Thomas!

We went to Maudsley State Park with Aunt Sheryl. That place is always so beautiful!

Pirate Party

Ahoy there matey's! Captain Aiden had his 4th birthday party at the house. He had a blast with his friends and family. His friends played in the backyard on the swingset, sandbox, and the bouncehouse borrowed by our wonderful neighbors. All of his friends then went to 9 different pirate themed centers. (Pirate tattoo's, toss the beanbag on the crocodile, rock stomping, pirate pictures, pirate stamps, diggiing for gold, cannon ball bowling, catch 4 ducks with a net, pin the eye patch on the pirate)! The kids had so much fun. Every center they went to they got a prize. Oh yeah, when they first arrived to the party the adult they came with was handed a treasure box with a map of the centers on it that they followed. Later the kids took turns hitting a treasure chest pinata! The festivities ended with pirate cupcakes and ice cream sandwiches.
Aiden's friends that came: Jimmy, Joon, Liam, Janya, Austin, Braeden, Brison, Brayden, Talon, Gavin, Olivia, Ellie, Sam P., Aubrey, Sam, Paxton and Haley.
Thank you to all of the center helpers: Mom, Dad, Sheryl, Phil, Nanny & Grampy, Keith & Ang, PJ!

March and April 2010

The months of March & April 2010 have been eventful to say the least. We have walked around Newburyport, went to visit a Maple Sugar Shack in Weare NH. Aiden's favorite part was eating the maple syrup sprayed cotton candy. The kid was wired for three whole days! Yes, he does have more energy than Todd. God help us all! Aiden enjoyed decorating Easter eggs, but had more fun hunting for them at Nanny and Grampy's. We have been playing outside more with the warm weather. He enjoys playing basketball and baseball. He loves his spiderman scooter and has finally learned to ride his bike with training wheels. It was all about the confidence.

He got a swingset for his birthday in which the "World's Best Construction Crew", assemblied in 1 day. Thank you again to Grampy Tim, Grampy David, Uncle Tony, and Todd.

Poor AO his tonsils are so enlarged that he needs to have emergency surgery to have them and his adnoids taking out. He is currently on a waiting list. His throat is so closed up that the opening in his throat is so small that they are concerned that he won't be able to breath or will choke when he eats.

On a lighter note, his pirate birthday party is coming up and he is looking forward to it!

Aiden had his first dentist appointment yesterday which was a success. He did such a great job. I am so proud of him. The appointment was an hour long. He did so well that he left with more loot than he could carry. He left with two toothbrushes, a bunch of individual dinosaur floss sticks, toothpaste, flouride rinse and 4 trucks. It was as though he went on a shopping spree.

Christmas morning was a busy one. Aiden did wake up late 8:30! Thank you for the Christmas present Santa... He was so excited for Christmas this year. We began decorating the house the day after Thanksgiving and every morning when he woke up he would ask, "Is it Christmas yet"? We also had a visitor, Buddy the Elf who stayed with us for the month of December. Buddy would tell Santa if Aiden was being naughty or nice. This worked like a charm. Whatever works right? Santa only drops off presents for Aiden under our tree that are wrapped in red tissue paper. That is his special paper. This year when asked what he wanted for Christmas he woud say, "a truck, a Leapster, a Spiderman Scooter, and more playdoh because our's is getting old". Of course he got all of his request and then some. Later on in the week we had many playdates and even went rollerskating! We went on the Polar Express in Lincoln NH. Aiden got to meet Santa and his elves. Jingles the Elf walked us up to the workshop. the experience was amazing!
