Thanksgiving Holiday

Well this year we decided to do things a bit different for Thanksgiving. We broke tradition and drove up to Colebrook where we celebrated a nice, quiet evening with Grampy J and Grampy D. We did not see moose on this excursion, but we did have a lovely time.

August 2009

Well Summer is over and school is back in session. The month of August cruised by so fast I don't think that I was there. The Oljey family went on their annual Lincoln trip. This year we invited our friends Jay & Kate and we hungout on the Kangamagus river. We also invited Kelly, PJ and Braydon and went to see the bears at Clarks Trading Post. The boys had a blast saying "Scram You Old Goat" to the famous wolfman!

We tye dyed our own shirts and Aiden's came out the best. Todd and Aiden went on a boys camping weekend with the Romanak boys, in which Aiden came home covered in dirt.

Aiden went to find the Lost River with mom and grammy. The weather was fantastic and the views beautiful. Aiden had a blast walking and crawling thru the caves.

Where I Come From by Todd Oljey

I am from matchbox cars and Thomas the Tank Engine.

I am from sticky tables and crumb filled floors.

I am from "All aboard" train rides in the living room
and from trips to "Castle in the Clouds" with panoramic views of Newfound Lake.

I am from belly zerberts with contagious laughter
and hmmmmmmmm on long car rides.

I am from nonstop running until his batteries run out.

I am from "I'm exhausted, I'm going to bed".

I am from savoring a cigar on the deck pondering the memories of golf.

I am from matchbox cars and Thomas the Tank Engine.

The month of July has been one busy month for our family. We went to the Rainforest Cafe where Aiden was afraid of the crocodile and did not want to enter the restaraunt. He loved the moving monkey's and flying butterflies though! We went with great company (Heather, Molly & Emily).

We played outside a lot. Actually as much as possible to make up for the rainy month of June. We went camping at Eastern Mountain Slope in North Conway, went canoeing at Uncle Timmy and Auntie Melissa's house, went to the beach several times, Liquid Planet water park, oh and how could I forget that we went to see Thomas the Tank Engine!

So far our summer vacation has brought a lot of rain, but we have still managed to have fun. We took Aiden bowling with bumpers for the first time. He practically beat both Todd and myself. He really enjoyed the bumper cars at Funspot. He certainly is a better driver than his dad! We went to Odione's State Park in Rye. There we found so many crabs hidden under rocks. At first Aiden was afraid of them, then he could not get enough of them. We met up with our friends Keith, Carol and their son Sam in Gloucster for their big festival. The boys went fishing and went on a rollercoaster.

Well the family just began April vacation 2009-Yippee! Today we went to the circus and Aiden was a bit bashful around the clowns. He and Todd enjoyed a leisurely elephant ride. Aiden was grinning from ear to ear.

This week I am determined to potty train this kid. I have never met someone as stubburn as he is with the exception of me and his dad. Go figure. At least he now pee's standing up. It's sort of cute.

He started Pre-K a few weeks ago and I cried. The program is in the same building, just downstairs. He has grown up so much, that I ask him everyday if he can stay 3 forever. He gives me that shit eating grin and says no with a smirk.

For his third birthday he invited a handful of friends to Burger King for a Thomas the Train birthday party. The kids played in the playland and ran around to the point of exhaustion. My plan worked!

Happy 3rd Birthday Aiden!!!!

Happy 3rd Birthday to our "Little Man"! Aiden invited some of his good friends to Burger King to help celebrate this brithday. The kids ran around in the playland and had a lot of fun going down the big slide. Of course the theme was Thomas the Tank. He would have it no other way. he continues to work on the whole potty training thing. Can you say L-A-Z-Y!!!!!

Wow! I never realized how much Aiden knows. He surprises me with something new everyday. He knows the colors green, blue, red, yellow, orange, white, black, brown, purple and pink. We are working hard on shapes. He has the triangle, heart, star and circle down. We still need some work on square, rectangle and diamond though. He undresses independently, but needs help with taking his shirt off. His favorite thing to play with still is trains. It's almost an obsession. He can drive by a forklift, escavator, front loader and dump truck and call them by name before Todd or I even see them. I believe he currerntly weighs maybe 26 pounds.

New Year's Eve

New Years Eve was actually fun and family friendly this year. We invited a few couples and their kids to come hang and pig out with us. The kids had mac-cheese and chicken fingers, punch, glow in the dark bracelets and crazy necklaces. We rented a car movie for them and they ran around the house and played. When the ball dropped they cheered Happy New Year!
